| My Golf Valet's Golf Tips is an investigation of both the mental and physical aspects of the game. As we all know, there are many ways to approach the game of golf, and the swing. What we'll explore are the "Universal Truths" of the two sides of the game and where they meet, in you and your game. The great players all maintain the proper mental and physical components in this great game. Challenge yourself to do the same.
The goal here is to not change your swing. We'll instead discuss the universal aspects of the game that will help you move to the next level. Try these tips on the practice range, and take the time to repeat these drills. We think these tips will aid you in your personal investigation of the game. Remember that golf is an exploration of where your mental faculties meet your physical talents. Let's begin putting these two aspects of the game together for each of you:
This first section will focus on the full swing. It will be taught in four installments. Please check back to our website frequently, for the next three installments on the full swing and other My Golf Valet Golf Tips.
Tip #1
Shoulder Behind The Ball
For the golfers out there that are struggling with a slice and feel that there is no hope for you out there, this tip is your magic bullet!
As you make your take-away think of one thing, and one thing only; pull your left shoulder (for the right-handed golfer) behind the ball all the way to the top of your back swing. From there just swing as you would normally swing and see what happens. I think that you are going to be pleasantly surprised. See diagrams below.

Line up as normal |

Get that shoulder behind the ball |
If you notice that you have a tendency to hook the ball, stay with this concept and the snap-hooks because in the third installment we will get you straightened out.
